Chincoteague Island Sampler
                                  by Bobill

My Recent drive to Chincoteague went like this:
1. I-64 across the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel
2. Route 13 N and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Eastern Shore of Virginia -
3. Route 175 East over the causeway and into Chincoteague.
4. Route 175 continues straight across another causeway to Assateague Island.

Chincoteague and Assateague are people-friendly places and easy to get around.
I stayed at the Main Street Waterfront Hampton Inn, which faces the causeway
and is within walking distance of several shops and restaurants. The hotel was
comfortable and well appointed and had a very friendly and accommodating staff.
Assateague Island abounds with wildlife, especially waterfowl, and one can see
much of it from the comfort of a motor vehicle. However I, found the best photo
opportunities while walking some of the many island trails. Other sights and
activities include a spacious beach, the Assateague Lighthouse, and museums.
