Site Overview

Photography is one of my hobbies, and most of my photos, except those which predate digital photography technology, were made with digital cameras, and you see some of these photos at my Photo Gallery. My newest SLR camera is a Canon Rebel XTi digital camera. It has a resolution of 10.1 mega pixels and creates up to eight photos at five frames per second. That's not real fast but will get four or five high resolution shots during an average person's golf swing. I also have a Canon 20D and a Canon D60, both SLR cameras. I also just purchased a Canon Power Shot SD1000 which has a resolution of about 7 mega pixels and which makes good videos.  It's shirt-pocket size and very easy to use.

My travel provides me with some great moments and a delightful array of photographic subjects. Some of my travel photos and commentary are accessible from My Travel page and at my Photo Gallery page. Last year I took a 3200-mile train ride during which I rode five different trains and sampled four different classes of onboard accommodations and took a 8-day cruise to Bermuda from Norolk - and this year I spent nine days sampling the wonders of Panama. I also have posted photos from a few special events which I've attended.

I occasionally like to hit a ball around a golf course, but I've never been mistaken for a real golfer. I do have fun though fooling around with golf, and that's what My Golf Page is all about. I'm a member of the NASA Golf Association, but don't play much with that group anymore. I prefer instead to play with friends on short golf courses like The Woodlands in Hampton, Virginia where I can actually enjoy the game - not struggle against long fairways on difficult courses which invariably defeats me and the ultimate object of amateur golf, which is to have an enjoyable time.

I have fond memories of my home town, and I've included a sub web, Toomsboro, GA, which is about some of those memories. The page includes  comments, photos, and a few of my short stories which are set in and around the town. It features a history of the Toomsboro School (based mostly on memories), which served the town's children for about three decades.

I have several blog sites at which I post occasionally, and a list of these can be seen at the My Blog Sites page..
